Farcliffe Family Centre is one of five family centres based in Bradford, and we are part of Bradford Social Care . We are based in the Manningham area of the city and situated approximately three miles from the city centre. We offer support and guidance to children aged up to 11yrs and their families.

We work alongside other professionals in an open, honest and confidential manner. We provide a wide range of services including support and guidance for our clients, who may be experiencing family crisis or difficulties.

 

Our role is to work towards reducing Bradford's Child Poverty, which includes:

  • No child to live in sub-standard housing
  • Every family accessing support they need
  • Children and young people take advantage of education employment and training opportunities.
  • Break the cycle of worklessness
  • Positive parenting build resilience to address inequalities, particularly health realted issues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Farcliffe Centre Core Offer

  • Supervised and assessed contact sessions for children and tgheir parents in legal proceedings, contributing to the parenting assessment
  • Work with children and famillies with complex needs Children in Need Section 17 Children ACt 1989 Case Accountable
  • Support rehabilitatio of children previously looked after, to the care of their parents or carers
  • Work in conjunction with social workers suppotring the needs of children in the safeguarding arena subject to a child protection plan.
  • Work with social wrokers to support children in Need, s.17 cases held by Social Workers
  • Advise on CAF and support the step up and step down model of CAF
  • Interagency approach and liason to mobilise local resrources to support children in the communitis in particular Children Centre's

 We offer planned, time limited packages of support which can be undertaken in the centre, family home or a combination of the two.

Our work with families is provided in a variety of ways:

  • Home based visits
  • Groups at the centre and in the community
  • Individual work with the parents and the children
  • Pre-birth assessments
  • Practical support
  • Advice
  • Joint initiatives with other agencies e.g. schools, Surestart and health organisations.

We offer group and individual work with the children and their families both at Farcliffe and Lilycroft Children & Family Centre and also in the wider community. We also offer groups in the Nursery School and the Children's Centre (Please see Children's centre and nursery School pages for further details). A greater proportion of our work is delivered in the family home.
