Children’s Centre Activity
Children’s Centres record information about the Centre’s users on a central system called eStart, all recorded with parental consent. This gives us robust and reliable data on just how many children and arers are accessing Children’s Centres, and the types of activities they attend.
Headline figures for the last 12 months (January 2011- December 2011) are:
- 953 children aged 0-4 years currently live in our Children’s Centres reach area.
- In the Children's Centre we have seen 228 children aged 0-2, and a 111 3-4 year olds over the last 12 months.
- The average distance travelled to Children’s Centre is 985 meters. This varies widely across the district, in Bradford East for example, children travel an average of 765 meters, where as in Shipley the average is 1,655 meters.
- 95 % of children 0-4 are living in most disadvantaged areas as recognised by the Index of Multiple Deprivation.
