A better start for babies 
We are working with our partners on key thing that will give babies in the district a better start in life.

We provide access to our centre Job Centre Plus advisor, job vacancies displayed and access to IT equipment to search for vacancies. We provide access to a community and debt advisor who can provide support around benefit entitlement, debt issues and information about grants, accessing low cost household items. |

4. Provide accessible maternity services, infant care and other support for women and families |
We signpost families to relevant agencies for maternity support. We can provide family support to families caring for children birth to five years. |

5. Actively promote Healthy Start vitamins and breastfeeding |
We signpost parents to local GP services to access Healthy Start Vitamins. We have trained Family Support Workers. |

6. Reduce smoking, alcohol and drug misuse within the family |
We provide information to parents and carers around these issues. Sign post to specialist agencies. |

7. Increase the understanding in communities of how genes influence a baby's health. |
We have trained staff who are able to discuss genetic anomalies and signpost to specialist services. |
