Sunflowers

In Sunflowers we have been reading our core story which is ‘Jack & The Beanstalk’. We have been planting with the children and have had lots of success with our Broad bean plants, the children have enjoyed taking care of them and taking turns to water them.

Our new story for this term is now the ‘Hungry Caterpillar’. The children are really enjoying this story and we have recently got some tiny caterpillars that we have been monitoring their growth and life cycle changes. This week we have moved the caterpillars, which are now in cocoon form into a new home until they hatch and become beautiful butterflies. We will then release them into our garden.

The children will be making lots of caterpillar models using our junk box resources and also painting some wonderful pictures of butterflies. What lovely weather we are having, so in Sunflowers, we are making the most of playing outside!

Daffodils

In Daffodils we are aiming to make the most of the weather and are spending most of our quality time outside with the children.

We have planned and are going to deliver a wide range of activities to meet the children’s needs and to follow the room planning. These include the basic provision such as water, sand play, planting strawberries and seeds in the garden area.

We are also arranging outings in local places such as the park, so children have fun and explore the wide world.

Daisies

We have a fantastic outdoor play area with soft play and various outdoor equipment. The children have enjoyed driving their bikes and cars around, for physical development and also have used the steps for experience of climbing.

The core story for Daisies this term is ‘Jaspers Beanstalk’ and the children have planted sunflower seeds in the garden.

Indoor activities include baby gyms, sand pit, and heuristic baskets for our smaller babies. Our focus colour this term is yellow.
